Psalm 116 "I love the Lord, because He hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because He had inclined His ear unto me, therefore will I call upon Him as long as I live.
Answered prayers are sometimes the most convincing and faith-creating force. If Christians know how to pray so as to receive answers to their prayers, it would become more evident to the world that we have the Almighty God on our side. Prayer still works miracles among men and brings to pass great things.
Prayer is asking God for something which He has promised. It is using a divine appointed means in obtaining what we need and for accomplishing what God promises to do on earth. It brings our desired blessings which only God can give. Answered prayers are part of prayer. Asking is man's part; while giving is God's part. Man makes the plea while God gives the answer. He is ready, willing and very anxious to give answers to our prayer than man is in asking Him.
The possibilities of prayer lie in our knowledge of the limitless, boundless power of our God and asking Him to do mighty things in our lives. Jesus said to the blind man, "according to your faith, be it unto you." It is the same thing when we pray. God is limited by the law of prayer in the measure of the answers He gives when we pray.
The Bible says whatsoever you ask according to the will of God that is what you will receive. The man who prays can pray for anything or for everything and God can give everything or anything we ask of, only when we ask in His will. If we limit God in asking, He will be limited in giving.
If we believe in God's word, we are bound to believe that prayers affect God and affect Him mightily. It avails much and brings about mighty result. There are wonders in prayer because there are wonders in God. Prayer is a verbal expression of our perfect confidence in the infinite wisdom, power and riches of the Almighty God, who has placed at our command in praying everything we need. In the book of Malachi, God says, "Prove me now herewith, God is waiting to be put to rest by His people through prayer. He delights in being put to rest on His promises.
It is His greatest pleasure to answer Prayers to prove that His promises are reliable. Nothing worthy of God or of great value to men will be accomplished till this is done. Getting answers to our prayers encourage us to pray and trust God. God's universal rule is to answer our prayers each time we pray right and according to His Will.
God answers every prayer from every soul who truly prays, though His answers at times might be a wait or a no. His word on answers to prayer is clear and definite.
Ask, and it shall be given unto you, Matthew 7:7.
In the case of Jabez, he called on God of Israel, saying, "O that thou wouldst bless me indeed and enlarge my coast and that thine hand might be with me and that thou wouldst keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me. "And God granted him his desires. 1 Chronicles 4:10
