19 Years After Winning Miss World Crown, See How The New Look Of Agbani Darego That Got People Talking
Agbani Darego became the first and the only African and black woman to win the Miss World beauty in 2001. Agbani was born into the family of eight and she was the sixth child, unfortunately she lost her mother just few years after moving to Federal Government College
Agbani initially fine it difficult to cope with lost of her mother, who had introduced her into the fashion industry through her Boutique Business. But she was determined to keep the memories and Legacy of her mother alive by becoming successful.
After her Secondary School Education, she gained admission into University of Port Harcourt, where she continued to combine education with fashion.
Things changed for the beauty queen after emerging as the most beautiful girl in Nigeria and she subsequently won the world crown a year later.
Due to her busy schedule as miss world, Darego left University of Port Harcourt and move to New York where she was signed a multi million dollars deal with Next Model management and Ford models. She was also signed a three year contract with L'oreal and worked with foreign and local brands, like world famous designers like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta, Mark Bouwer, and Gian Franco Ferre. She also graced cover of popular magazines like Elle, Cosmopolitan, Mary Claire etc.
She later continued her education by enrolling in University of New York to study psychology and graduated in may 2012.
1n April 2017, Darego married her long time partner, Ishaya Danjuma, son of billionaire, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma.
